Born and bred in Kaikoura, Max attended school at Kekerengu before heading up the Awatere Valley to work as a shepherd. He then moved to the Mid/South Canterbury area and started in the livestock industry. Max has picked up a broad range of experience over the years, including time in management roles, such as head auctioneer and livestock manager. He has also developed expertise in the deer industry.
